French Classes "Noel"

During the month of December, the McGraw French Classes dived into the world of “Noël”.  It's important to the curriculum to take time to really understand and appreciate the holiday from another culture’s perspective.  The classes learn vocabulary associated with Noël, sing carols in French, read articles, and watch videos depicting the holiday season in the Francophone world.  They also spend the last week before “Noël” making handmade ornaments and crafts that are traditionally popular in Europe and on the Friday before vacation we celebrate with a huge “Fête” where the kids volunteer to bring in a “Buche de Noël” or yule log cake for everyone to try.  Cultural understanding in as important as language acquisition in a Foreign language classroom, it brings the world closer together.
