Welcome New Teacher: Mrs. Rickards

 
"My name is Danica Rickards and I am the art teacher at McGraw Elementary School. I just moved to the area from Oregon and I am so excited to be teaching art at McGraw! Like any good art teacher, I love to draw and paint, and before becoming an art teacher I was a ceramic artist for five years. When I'm not creating artwork, I love practicing yoga, baking, and hiking with my husband and our two French bulldogs! It has been so much fun exploring New York’s beautiful trails, forests, and waterfalls! "

I have my M.A.T. from Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR. I have my B.F.A. from Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA.
 
From 2016-2018 was the art teacher (K-5) at Liberty Elementary Schools in Greater Albany Public Schools in Albany, OR. Additionally, I student taught at West Albany High School in Greater Albany Public Schools. Prior to becoming an art teacher, I was an independent ceramic artist for 5 years, and I threw functional pottery on a wheel.
