First Grade Learns Parts of Speech

Mrs. Bassett's class has been introduced to the wonderful world of parts of speech.  The students have worked on using purposeful play to show the different types of nouns.  They built different places using legos, blocks, and pattern blocks. Then we used playdoh to create different types of things.  The students used their creations and played a guessing game. To introduce verbs we broke into small groups and played charades.  They sure have had a fun time being active!  Take a look.
