Summer STEAM

The first week of summer school was full of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) activities.  The fourth and fifth grade classes learned about chemical reactions by making slime and tie dying shirts. They became engineers and made a windmill that charges a LED light, a weather station to grow plants, and a soccer snake that they coded to shoot the soccer ball.  The final project was an egg drop.  The students had to create a contraption of their choice to protect an egg.  We dropped the egg from 5 and 10 feet.  Four groups made it to 10 feet.  It was a fun time for all!!
