Welcome Mrs. Elia

Welcome Mrs. Madison Elia to McGraw High School as the new Vocal Music teacher.  The current Miss Kemler will be married on September 5th - two days before the start of the school year - to husband, Marcus.  Starting the year as a newlywed, she says, “I am so very excited to be working at McGraw and collaborating with the students in the music classroom! I look forward to forming relationships with my colleagues as well as with the community, and I plan to get our students singing in the community as much as possible this school year.  Lots of exciting experiences are forming and coming your way!”

Mrs. Elia has three music degrees: Bachelor of Arts in vocal performance and piano from SUNY Geneseo; Bachelor of Music in music education from The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam; and Master of Music in music education with choral and special education concentrations from The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.  She is from Canandaigua, NY.  She is the middle child in her family, having an older sister and younger brother.  Mrs. Elia spends much of her free time in the summer by the lake at her family's cottage.  In her free time she also loves to bake, hike, and travel.
