Welcome Miss Hallett, Teacher


Miss Kara Hallett is a new teacher at the High School building, teaching seventh grade science and enrichment/computer skills classes.  She graduated high school in 2015 then attended SUNY Broome graduating in 2017 with an associate's degree in education.  She then attended SUNY Cortland graduating in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in biology education.  Currently Miss Hallett is finishing her master's degree at SUNY Cortland in literacy education.  She worked previously at Cortland City Schools. Last summer she worked at 4-H Camp Owahta and plans to again next year. 

Originally from Warren Center, Pennsylvania, she now makes her home in on Syrian Hill Rd.  Miss Hallett has two older sisters, a younger sister, and two younger brothers.  They all have “K” names- here's a list oldest to youngest: Kelsey (28), Kally (27), Kara (24), Kipp (22), Krista (21), and Kieran (19).  Ms. Hallett just got engaged and is very excited for a September 2023 wedding.  In her free time, she enjoys playing basketball and soccer, playing intramural soccer at SUNY Cortland.  She adds, “I love to hike, swim, and bike, and a lot of my time is also spent doing fun crafts.”  Miss Hallett also has five cats and spends a lot of time with them.
