Making an Eclipse

 
After reading eclipse facts and writing why it's great to be a New Yorker on eclipse day, the 5th grade students simulated a total solar eclipse.  They took a yard stick, and attached a "moon" and "earth" on each side.  Then the students went outside to create an eclipse by having the moon create a shadow on the Earth.
