On Friday, December 20, 2024, the McGraw School District will conduct their annual "Go Home Early " Drill. Students in grades 7-12 will be dismissed at 2:35 p.m. and grades PreK-6 at 2:40 p.m. Parents are encouraged to review the emergency location where your child would go in the event of an actual early dismissal situation.
Students will be transported to their regular bus stop location, unless the individual school buildings are contacted regarding a different location for your child to be sent on the date of the drill. The guidelines for the emergency drill include a review of the procedures district staff would utilize in the event of an actual early dismissal for emergency purposes, according to the District Safety Plan.

Dear McGraw Community,
Please see the message below from Melinda McCool.
"After proudly serving as the Superintendent of Schools for the past eight years at my alma mater, the McGraw Central School District, and dedicating 32 years to public education, I am announcing my retirement. Reflecting on our journey, I am filled with gratitude for the remarkable accomplishments we've achieved together. At McGraw, our shared commitment to enriching student programming and ensuring its relevance to the real world has been unwavering. Through a collaborative effort among our teachers, staff, and administrators, we've transformed instructional methods and utilized relevant data, equipping our students with maximum achievement, as well as, the critical thinking skills and knowledge vital for their future success. As a community member, I acknowledge the importance of a strong financial plan. We have been fiscally responsible during our programming expansion, optimizing state and federal funding, and grant opportunities, ensuring that the district remains in good financial standing with the least amount of impact on taxpayers.
I take immense pride in the evolution of our curriculum, which not only fosters academic excellence but also nurtures holistic development. The technology lab that we rebuilt is preparing our students for lucrative careers in engineering and technology. The additional electives and college course offerings has widened opportunity for all students. Witnessing two students receiving an associate's degree alongside their high school diploma, a historic milestone for McGraw, stands as a testament to our collective dedication. Knowing that several students who attended a spring career fair walked away with employment in growing fields or possible future internships while in college, is further evidence of the commitment of McGraw educators. Furthermore, the flourishing of our music and art departments, initiated by the establishment of a state-of-the-art piano lab during my tenure, showcases our commitment to providing unparalleled opportunities for artistic expression and musical growth. Underpinning these achievements is our unwavering focus on safety, as demonstrated by the implementation of secure entryways in the last Capital Project and annual safety audits performed by our principals and facility director. It has been a privilege to lead within a culture of collaboration and excellence. While I step down from my role, I am confident in the continued exceptional work of the educators within the McGraw community."
The Board of Education would like to thank Melinda for her service to our school district. Troy Bilodeau will continue in his role as Acting Superintendent while we begin contract negotiations with him, leading to his appointment as Superintendent.
Sincerely,
Board of Education
