I am very excited to be returning to my hometown roots to teach. McGraw is a wonderful community to grow up in, and I feel fortunate to be able to now teach here and give back to my community. This is my fourth year teaching. My first teaching position was in Hancock, N.Y. as a third grade teacher. My next two years were spent teaching second grade in Lansing, N.Y. This year, I’m thrilled to be in McGraw starting the new Pre-K program.
After graduating as Valedictorian of the class of 2009 at McGraw High School, I attended college at SUNY Fredonia, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education. My education brought me back home, where I attended SUNY Cortland and earned my Master’s Degree in Literacy Education. My certifications are in the areas of: Early Childhood Education (Birth-2nd), Childhood Education (1st-6th), and Literacy Education (Birth-6th).
I recently married my high school sweetheart on July 29, 2017. It was a beautiful summer day and perfect in every way. We currently live in McGraw and are house hunting for our first home. My husband and I have a 4, almost 5, year old Border Collie/American Eskimo named Samson. He’s so smart and we love him to pieces! Some things I enjoy in my free time are working out, spending time with friends and family, and reading. My favorite foods are sweets, and nothing beats a good combination of chocolate and peanut butter (cake, cupcakes, ice cream . . . you name it), in my opinion.
