Autism Awareness Month

Hey everyone! Guess what? Our Newspaper Club got to do something super cool! We helped make new panels for the sensory board in the hallway. You know that board with all the different textures and stuff? It's awesome!

We learned that April is Autism Awareness Month and our teachers told us that sensory boards can be really helpful for people with autism. Sensory boards give kids a way to explore different feelings and textures in a safe and fun way.

We made panels with all sorts of things! There's one with fuzzy fabric, scratch and sniff stickers, and smooth shiny tiles. We also added some things that make different sounds. It was so much fun to figure out what kinds of things would feel or sound interesting. We tried to think about all the different senses. We wanted some things that were soft and some that were rough. We even put in a panel with different smells! Like watermelon and Coca-Cola. We hope everyone enjoys the new panels.

Come check out the sensory board!

Rock, Paper, Scissors 2025 CHAMPION!!!

Mr. D'Antonio

Did you have any strategies? I didn't really have any strategies.  I like to start with rock because it seemed like most people did not.

Did you do anything to prepare for the competition? No, I didn't really prepare for competing in this tournament.  I think that I was just really lucky.

How far did you think you would go once the competition started? Once the competition started, I thought I was going to lose right away but I got pretty far to keep going.

What's your favorite to use rock, paper, or scissors? I cant give away my secrets!!!!

PAPER WINS THE MATCH!!
